August 1, 2017

(Burlington, Vt.)  There is still time to enter to win up to $10,000 in legal services in a patent competition for start-ups and early stage companies. Sponsored by the intellectual property attorneys at the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, the competition is intended to support the local start-up community.

“It can be difficult for new companies to find the resources to invest in intellectual property, but protecting their fresh ideas from potential infringement is a critical need right from the start,” said Cathy Stadecker, a director in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. “One lucky company will get a head start on its competition.”

The competition is available to any new startup in northern New England. The application deadline has been extended to Sept. 15. The winning entrant will be connected with a DRM intellectual property attorney to begin the patent application process.  To enter the competition, visit
