Overview

As an intellectual property paralegal, April Hathaway assists with the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent and trademark applications and tends to the maintenance of issued patents and registered trademarks. With years of experience interacting with clients and attorneys, April is able to streamline the completion of formal documents, including declarations, assignments and powers of attorney. She conducts correspondence concerning foreign application filings and formalities with respect to both patents and trademarks and is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the payment of foreign patent annuities with clients, annuity services and foreign associates.

In addition, April is a docket manager, overseeing the docketing of all deadlines for both patents and trademarks, including incoming and outgoing correspondence with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and with foreign associates. She prepares monthly docket reports and monitors the status of all pending and issued patents and all pending and registered trademarks.

Community Involvement
  • April is an active member of her church, where she is a catechist, teaching third grade religion for Our Lady of Grace parish in Colchester, Vermont.
